The video game industry

The video game industry is now the leading cultural sector, in France and globally, surpassing books and music.

The French video game industry has experienced significant growth in recent years, both in terms of employment and number of companies. French productions are internationally recognized and consistently awarded, and French studios entertain people all over the world, whether on mobile devices, PCs, or consoles.

French studios and publishers are spread across the entire country, with a strong concentration in the Île-de-France region, followed by the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and Occitanie regions. Educational institutions (numbering around fifty dedicated to video game professions) are internationally acclaimed for the quality of their programs.

With this dynamic environment and strong support from public authorities (particularly through CNC initiatives), France has all the assets to be acknowledged as a major player in the industry.
